Terms and Conditions of Installation Services

Effective Date: 1st January 2026

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions:

  • “Company” means Chancery Consulting Ltd, its employees, contractors, and agents.

  • “Customer” means any person or entity requesting services from the Company.

  • “Services” include the supply, installation, maintenance, or commissioning of solar panels, battery storage systems, EV chargers, and related equipment.

  • “Site” means the location where Services are performed.

2. Quotations and Acceptance

  • All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

  • Acceptance of a quote constitutes a binding agreement under these Terms and Conditions.

  • The Company may withdraw or amend a quote if site conditions differ materially from initial survey findings.

3. Payment Terms

  • A deposit of 50% of the total price is payable upon acceptance of the quote.

  • The balance is payable upon completion of the installation, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Payment methods: BACS, bank transfer, or card. Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.

4. Customer Responsibilities

  • The Customer must ensure safe and unobstructed access to the Site.

  • The Customer is responsible for obtaining necessary permissions from landlords, local authorities, or building management.

  • The Customer must disclose any relevant site conditions (structural, electrical, or legal) affecting installation.

5. Installation and Service

  • Installation will be performed by suitably qualified and certified personnel.

  • The Company will use reasonable care to minimise disruption but is not liable for minor inconvenience or property aesthetic changes.

  • Any proposed changes to the scope of work must be agreed in writing and may affect cost and schedule.

6. Warranties and Guarantees

  • All installations comply with UK standards and relevant certifications (e.g., MCS, NICEIC, IET).

  • Equipment warranties are provided by manufacturers.

  • The Company warrants workmanship for 12 months unless otherwise stated.

  • Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, or third-party intervention.

7. Liability

  • The Company is not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic losses, including loss of revenue, income, or profits.

  • Liability for direct damages is limited to the total contract value.

  • The Company is not liable for delays due to weather, supply chain issues, or factors beyond its reasonable control.

8. Cancellations and Termination

  • The Customer may cancel the contract in writing prior to installation, subject to a cancellation fee equal to any costs incurred by the Company.

  • The Company may terminate the contract if the Customer breaches these Terms or fails to make payment.

9. Data Protection

  • The Company will process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

  • Customer data will be used for contract administration, communications, and legal compliance.

10. Force Majeure

The Company is not liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, strikes, pandemics, or governmental actions.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
